ASID honors Gabberts designer Karen Soojian

Receives organization's highest honor
EDINA, Minn. — Karen Soojian, a senior interior designer with Gabberts Design Studio & Fine Furnishings here, received the 2008 ASID Designer of Distinction Award at an American Society of Interior Designers award banquet in Minneapolis.

Soojian has won other ASID awards since 2003, but this was her first time to receive the designer organization's highest honor.

A designer for more than 20 years, Soojian is a graduate of the New York School of Interior Design. She has studied in Australia and has been featured in Minnetonka Magazine and in the Robb Report, for exceptional vacation properties.

The upscale Gabberts Design Studio & Fine Furnishings, founded in 1946 and acquired by HOM Furniture this past summer, operates a 63,000-square-foot store in the Galleria in Edina.
