Line will be paired with Stanley case goods

HICKORY, N.C. — Vanguard Furniture is set to roll out its Coastal Living collection of casual, cottage-inspired upholstery with 25 SKUs and lifestyle fabrics, part of a joint effort that will include Coastal Living case goods by Stanley Furniture. ![]() Upholstery from Vanguard and case goods from Stanley will team up in the Coastal Living collection to be introduced in October. |
Vanguard inked a multi-year license agreement with the magazine to become the licensee for upholstery, which will complement the 80 wood pieces Stanley will introduce at the October High Point Market.
The upholstery will be branded Coastal Living by Vanguard Furniture. The collection will be introduced in the Stanley showroom and also will be marketed and distributed through Stanley.
Most of the new pieces will be fully upholstered. Fabric will include cottons, tonal gingham plaids and classic linens in what Vanguard described as "fresh colorations inspired by the mosaic of the sea." Three finish options marry the case goods for a cohesive look designed to reflect the relaxed feeling of the beach.
The company said the pricing structure is consistent with the Stanley case goods.
"We can't think of a better partner than Coastal Living from a creative standpoint," said Vanguard President Dixon Mitchell. "Their vision for the coastal lifestyle dovetails beautifully with ours and the cottage lifestyle is a niche that Vanguard has wanted to pursue for quite some time."
"Coastal Living is excited to partner with Vanguard Furniture on this collection," said Kay Fuston, editor in chief of the magazine. "We've long known of Vanguard's reputation as a manufacturer of quality upholstery, and we're confident that the Coastal Living collection will hit the mark with our readers and others who desire a casual, relaxed lifestyle."
