WINNIPEG, Manitoba —
Benjamin Kay has been named president and chief operating officer of mattress manufacturer Canwest Bedding Ltd./Serta Mattress Winnipeg, based here.
The announcement was made by Iser Kay, who now becomes chairman and CEO of the family-owned company.
Benjamin Kay, who is Iser Kay's son, joined the company in 1997 as a special projects coordinator. He was promoted to sales and marketing coordinator in 1998, then to sales and marketing manager and in 2001, to vice president and general manager.
“Benjamin's executive role helped pave the way to rapid business growth for the company, which expanded its manufacturing facilities in 2004,” the company said in a statement.
Iser Kay said Benjamin “will do an outstanding job in his new position.”
