Calif. flammability law symposium set for Feb

Berkeley, Calif. - The Green Science Policy Institute is hosting a symposium on California's new flammability standard on Feb. 14 at the University of California, Berkeley.
     During the one-day event, industryprofessionals will take partin two panel discussions about theTB-117-2013 standard revisionthat went into effect on Jan. 1. Themeeting will be held from 8:30 4 p.m. at 150 University Hall,UC Berkeley.
     A morning panel discussionon "Flame Retardants Exposed:Tales from Health Science and InvestigativeJournalism" will featureArlene Blum, visiting scholar at UCBerkeley; Susan Kasper, associateprofessor of environmental health,University of Cincinnati; PaulaJohnson, postdoctoral scholar in theUC San Francisco program on reproductivehealth and the environment;and Kirby Walker, directorand producer of "Toxic Hot Seat."
     An afternoon panel on "Navigatingthe Challenges Ahead: NewFrontiers in Chemicals and Policy"will include Debbie Raphael, directorof the California Departmentof Toxic Substances Control; EdenBrukman, technical director ofthe Health Product DeclarationCollaborative; and Donald Lucasof Lawrence Berkeley NationalLaboratory.To register, go to:
