Nourison expands plant in Georgia

Saddle Brook, N.J. - Rugand home décor manufacturerNourison is expanding its305,000-square-foot distributioncenter in Calhoun, Ga.
The 132,000-square-foot expansionis expected to come onlinein early spring and will include newmachinery, advanced logistics, officespace and expanded shippingand receiving capabilities.
"With this addition, we willfurther our ability toservice our customersthe way they havebeen accustomed to from Nourison,"said Andrew Peykar, Nourisonvice president.
"This state-of-the-art facilityand systems we have put in placeallows us to turn orders aroundvery quickly, sometimes minutesafter the order is taken.," he said.We are poised now to turn thatsometimes to always. We will alsobe adding 40-50 new employeesas well as new equipment, such ashigh-speed picking machines, tothis location."
Nourison's warehouse in Calhouncurrently stores, processesand ships out a bulk of the company'sextensive line of area rugs,accent rugs, home accents andbroadloom. In addition, the complexhouses the company's hospitalitydivision, including executives,designers and sales staff.
Peykar added that the city ofCalhoun and Gordon County, Ga.,"have been instrumental partnersin our expansion."
