Lynch Sales Co. celebrates century in business

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Lynch Sales Co. began 100 years ago as part of founder Joseph P. Lynch's dream to become the best merchandising furniture salesman in the country.
Today, under the direction of his grandsons Judson and Chris Lynch, the company, which specializes in liquidation and promotional sales, serves clients throughout the world.
Company officials say that throughout its history, Lynch Sales Co. has remained focused on its core values: integrity, respect for its clients and their businesses, and achieving superior results for those clients.
"Respect your customer," Daniel L. Lynch Sr., chairman emeritus, who ran the company from 1945-1980, said. "Work with your customer and earn your customers the highest possible result."
Today the co-CEOs, Judson and Chris Lynch, are following in their father's and grandfather's footsteps with sales plans that address the spectrum of promotional events designed to generate cash, expand or change location, remodel and refurbish stores or update inventory.
Chris Lynch said the company's sales professionals are one of the keys to a successful business.
"We are fortunate to have many dedicated professionals on our team. These are fine people who have made their careers at Lynch Sales Co.," he said. "Everyone from our office personnel, to our sales conductors and sales personnel has a sense of loyalty and passion to always do what is right and best for the team."

"Retailers depend on us, in many cases, to help them stay in business with one of our promotional sales, which we prefer. This allows us to work with that retailer again someday when they have other reasons for large storewide sales."
The year-long celebration will feature centennial and commemorative gifts as well as an opportunity to win a grand prize of a week-long trip to Ireland for one of the company's clients.
"Any retailer who inquires about holding a Lynch ‘Sale of the Century' in 2014 will receive a limited edition 100th anniversary gift," they said. "And if a retailer meets with a Lynch sales professional resulting in scheduling a sale to be held during 2014, they will not only receive an additional high-end commemorative gift but will be entered into the drawing for the grand prize. At the end of the year we'll randomly select a retailer's name and notify them that they have won a trip to Ireland."
