TUKWILA, Wash. — A-America has named Christian Rohrbach vice president of merchandising and Asia operations, a new position at the case goods importer and producer.

Rohrbach will relocate to Tukwila from Vietnam, where he has worked for five years as A-America's director of Asia operations.

In his new role, he will continue to run the Asia operations and periodically travel to Asia to work with factories there. His new duties will put him in charge of merchandising the current product mix, managing the development of case goods and working with key customers on special projects and design concepts.

Rohrbach will report to Dean Banks, senior vice president of sales, marketing and merchandising.

Banks said Rohrbach, who speaks several Asian languages, used his stint in Asia to gain valuable experience in areas including quality control, communicating with various cultures and product engineering. Banks also lauded Rohrbach's extensive background in product development and factory sourcing.
