R&A Marketing launches mattress program for retailers

Has traditional, online, social media components

COLUMBUS, Ohio — R&A Marketing here is launching Sleep Better Promotions, a turnkey integrated marketing program with traditional media print, broadcast, direct mail, email, online marketing and social media components promoting the retailer as the brand.

The marketing firm said the new program is fully customizable and promotes the retailer's store "as the ideal location for every mattress shopper by promoting all of the mattress brands retailers sell and all the consumer needs they meet."

That compares to other programs that typically promote a single bedding brand, not necessarily the retailer, the company said.

"R&A is taking their 30 years of customized, dealer specific advertising programs and bringing a turnkey vehicle to the home furnishings industry that helps do one thing and one thing only ... sell more mattresses," the company said in a release.

In a related move, R&A has hired industry veteran Scott Graham to expand the new service. Graham has more than 30 years of experience with Simmons Mattress and retailer PMD Furniture Direct, where he was vice president of merchandising and operations. While at Simmons, he was a key account executive for Macy's, City Mattress, Banner Mattress, Mattress Warehouse and others.

"Mattresses are a huge part of a retailer's business and bottom line. Sleep Better Promotions is all about helping turn mattresses into a money-making machine," Graham said.
