Messe Frankfurt launching Ambiente India in 2014

Event to be held concurrently with Heimtextil India

NEW DELHI — Messe Frankfurt is exporting the concept of its international home design, furnishings and accessories trade fair, Ambiente, to India in 2014.

Set for June 19-21, Ambiente India will take place for the first time in India's capital city, New Delhi.

"As sector meeting place for the wholesale and retail trades, Ambiente offers brand manufacturers, suppliers, interior designers and interior architects a major platform for establishing and extending business contacts," a Messe Frankfurt press release stated. "On top of that, it provides an inspirational platform for the Indian market and a comprehensive survey of the new products and trends in the product groups related to Dining, Giving and Living."

"As the world's leading trade fair for consumer goods, Ambiente is recognizably unique," said Detlef Braun, member of the executive board of Messe Frankfurt. "With the launch of Ambiente India, we shall be offering the Indian market a world-class business platform and, with it, will be deliberately developing our portfolio of value-creation in the field of consumer goods worldwide. India, a growth market and one of our target regions, offers the ideal framework conditions for this."

Messe Frankfurt says factors such as the growth of cities, increases in available income and the above-average development in the hotel and hospitality trade, as well as in the property sector, are made India an appealing marketplace. According to a recent BRICdata study, the market volume for products relating to interior design and decoration will grow to $48.5 billion by 2016.
