OMAHA — A story in this week's Omaha World-Herald reports that Nebraska Furniture Mart's impending expansion to a 433-acre site north of Dallas, has sparked a run on nearby real estate from a host of other retailers, including Seffner, Fla.-based Rooms To Go and Houston-based Mattress Firm.
The article cited a blog by John Zikos, a partner at Dallas-based Venture Commercial Real Estate that said that several hotels, a new Kroger food store, multiple movie theaters and dozens of restaurants are also vying for space near Nebraska Furniture Mart's new site.
To gain perspective from within the home furnishings sector, the paper also interviewed Furniture/Today's editor in chief Ray Allegrezza.
