Adornably app shows furniture placement

The app is available in iTunes,and Adornably also is selling theproduct from its online catalogof items on the app. The LosAngeles-based company said thereare hundreds of pieces featured inthe app, which has launched withsuppliers Stanley, Vanguard andTheodore Alexander. More will beadded later, an Adornably spokesmansaid.
"Gone are the days of mismeasuring,mismatched furnitureand heavy lifting," the companysaid in a release.
"Adornably will set the interiordesigner inside all of us free andmake everyone's home a designplayground," added CEO MarcLebovitz in a release.
Users of the app drop a magazineon the floor to help scale thefurniture. They take a picture of thespace with the magazine in it, andthen add furniture from the appcatalog.
Stanley Furniture CEO GlennPrillaman called the app "a potentialgame-changer in the digitalrevolution now sweeping acrossalmost every part of a home furnishingsindustry that previouslyoffered consumers the same shoppingexperience for over 50 years."
Prillaman said, "Both suppliersand retailers should love this toolbecause it enables customers tofully visualize what furniture wouldlook like in the home before theactual purchase."
Neil Wood, a spokesman forAdornably, said the e-commercecompany is selling the productfrom the app and that it's directlyfulfilled by suppliers at this point.Adornably is not warehousing anygoods.
Among the app features is a"My Design" area that allowsconsumers to add, change, rotate,and delete items from the space. A"live" mode enables them to walkaround the space while viewing thevirtual pieces through their iPadscreen. They can also post, shareand save favorite photos.

The Adornably app can bedownloaded at https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/adornably/id716260052?ls=1&mt=8 andwill soon be available for other tablets,the company said.
