Flat-pack furniture producer Legare sold to Kittrich Corp.

Youth furniture a key category for company

LA MIRADA, Calif. — Kittrich Corp., a resource for housewares, mattresses, stationery and other household products, has acquired flat-pack furniture producer Legare.

Legare, whose products feature a patented, tool-free assembly process, has been especially successful with its youth furniture collections, but the company also produces a variety of home office, entertainment and occasional furniture.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"The growth of our themed kids furniture has been phenomenal," said Lionel Chevalier, managing director of Legare Europe. "With the official launch of Legare Europe and the union with Kittrich, we are well positioned for dramatic growth in these recovering high-growth markets."

Legare is exhibiting its European line at the Cologne Furniture Fair, which begins Jan. 13.
