ATLANTA — The "Arbiter of Style," designer Lotta Jansdotter, will present an interactive session in Surya's Americasmart showroom during this week's Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market.
The workshop will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Surya's Merchandise Mart 11-A-1 showroom, where Jansdotter will share her design inspirations, discuss her process and demonstrate the techniques she employs to bring her designs to life. The session will be followed by a Q&A session and informal meet and greet with the designer.
Earning international acclaim for her free-flowing and playful patterns, Jansdotter blends organic forms and motifs with simple Scandinavian-influenced style to create products that are handmade yet distinctly modern, according to Surya. Her collections for Surya include hand-tufted and flat-weave wool rugs, along with pillows and poufs - all of which feature her signature hand-drawn designs.
"With a focus on evoking harmony and unity through pattern, Lotta's design aesthetic reflects a deep-rooted appreciation for the natural beauty that surrounds us," said Satya Tiwari, Surya president. "Her relaxed, understated and timeless designs bring a welcome sense of balance to today's modern urban landscapes."
In addition, Surya will also host a showroom celebration on Thursday, Jan. 9, beginning at 5 p.m., and will offer a daily hot, catered breakfast and lunch, along with hors d'oeuvres and cocktails each evening.
