A Masterful Conference

And as most of you know, thanks to great attendees, great speakers and presenters and a great support team here at Progressive Business Media, our conference gets bigger and better each year.
This year, with a theme of Masters of the Game, our Leadership Conference broke all house records for attendance, registering some 470 industry executives. In fact, for the first time in the 17 years we've been putting this conference on, we had to turn people away as we had sold the event out.
Hitting a registration milestone of some 470 was even more gratifying because not only was the room filled, it was filled with our industry's leaders.
Our retail attendees were a veritable who's who of retail and included executives from American Furniture Warehouse, American Signature, Art Van, Ashley Furniture Home Stores, Badcock Home Furnishings & more, Big Lots, Bograd's, Boyles, City Furniture, El Dorado Furniture, Furniture land South, Furniture Mart, Gorman's Haut look, Mealey's Furniture, Morris Furniture, Mueller's Furniture, Nebraska Furniture Mart, Raymour and Flanigan, Unlimited Furniture Group, Value City Furniture, R.C. Willey, Stoney Creek Furniture, Way fair and many more.
Dr. Nido Qubein got us started with an inspiring keynote and the energy simply kept building throughout our event.
We also heard presentations on the economy, e-commerce, Prop 65, design, upholstery and more.
Our panel of Next-Gen retailers shared their vision for our industry while Art Van's Kim Yost gave us actionable tips on how to motivate ourselves and those around us.
Experts in finance gave us practical advice on how to find cash and then use it to grow our bottom lines.
For me, the highlight of the event came when we recognized five Masters of the Game: Jake Jabs, Simon Kaplan, Bernie Moray, Art Van Elslander and Ron Wanek.
