Gabriele Natale named president of Lifestyle Enterprise

Will broaden duties to handle case goods, upholstery

Natale has been with the company for five and a half years, serving as president of Lifestyle's Shanghai upholstery division.

He will continue in that role, but also assume responsibility for case goods, a role previously handled by James Riddle, company chairman.

In his new role, Natale reports to Riddle. He will merchandise the entire line and also help manage relationships with the company's retail customers.

"I am excited about having the whole company to manage," Natale said on Friday at Lifestyle's Forbidden City show being held in Las Vegas. "I believe we will be able to improve what already is a very, very solid foundation in the first place."

I'm Tom Russell and have worked at Furniture/Today since August 2003. Since then, I have covered the international side of the business from a logistics and sourcing standpoint. Since then, I also have visited several furniture trade shows and manufacturing plants in Asia, which has helped me gain perspective about the industry in that part of the world. As I continue covering the import side of the business, I look forward to building on that knowledge base through conversations with industry officials and future overseas plant tours. From time to time, I will file news and other industry perspectives online and, as always, welcome your response to these Web postings.
