Also elected were Kami Navid of Jaunty, vice president; Behrooz Hakimian of Woven Concepts, treasurer; and Ramin Kalaty of Kalaty, secretary.
Outgoing ORIA president Jeff DeSantis was awarded the ORIA Presidents Plaque in recognition of contributions he made during his three-year term.
"It has been a privilege to lead this venerable organization," DeSantis said. "I know that I am turning over reins to an excellent group of leaders and have confidence that Reza Momeni and the other elected ORIA officers and executive board members will continue to strengthen and expand the association's important role in the home furnishings industry."

Chicago - The Mitchell Group has named Dan Payne national sales manager. Payne, who reports to Bill Fisch, president, has more than 22 years of sales and marketing experience, including 12 years in sales management. Prior to joining Mitchell, he was national sales manager, residential, for North American textile manufacturer the Victor Group.
"Dan brings strategic sales management experience to Mitchell at a time when we're creatively developing and expanding our line," Fisch said. "His ability to connect with customers and identify opportunities is in keeping with our philosophy. We're thrilled he's joining the Mitchell team."
Payne will be responsible for Mitchell's sales performance, with a goal of increasing market share in its residential and contract-hospitality divisions. Additionally, he will oversee the sales and distribution of an extensive new residential product line, as well as the growth of Mitchell's existing Sta-Kleen and ReCast categories.
Initially, Payne will be based in Newport, R.I., but will eventually relocate his office to the New York metropolitan area.
Dalton, Ga. - Kaleen Rugs is bringing back a familiar face for a key management role.
Monty Rathi, chief operating officer, announced the hire of Grey Christie as Kaleen's new regional vice president of the Atlantic Region. Christie will be responsible for managing sales and salespeople in eight Atlantic states, as well as expanding market share. He will report to Blake Dennard, senior vice president.

Prior to rejoining Kaleen, Christie was vice president of sales for Orian Rugs and had held a sales management position with Dalyn Rugs.
Novelty, Ohio - After more than 45 years on the road, longtime manufacturer's representative Jeff Mischel is retiring.
Mischel, 66, got his start in the furniture industry with Charlton Furniture Co. when his father, Samuel, handed him a briefcase and said "good luck." Mischel says that made up the extent of his training.
In addition to Charlton, Mischel represented companies such as Alexvale, Ayers Rattan, Sealy of Maryland, Laurent Leather and Saloom.
A third-generation member of the furniture family, Mischel spent a number of years working with his son, Keith.
"In my 26 years on the road, I have never met anyone with his work ethic and his ability to work a territory," Keith said of his father. "I feel very lucky to have spent half my career working with my dad."
Greensboro, N.C. - Lisa Murray is the new director of client services for Cain Creative Group, a brand development, marketing and advertising agency specializing in the high end home furnishings industry.
Murray will add marketing expertise and support services, the agency said.

Murray's experience in marketing includes work for J. Walter Thompson in New York, Equation Communications in Pleasantville, N.Y., and Creative Strategy Group in Newtown, Pa. Murray has worked with clients in health care, travel and tourism and other business-to-business industries.
