Joan Gunin -- Furniture Today, September 28, 2008
SHENZHEN, China — Rocky Campbell has joined leather seating specialist DeCoro as director of motion upholstery operations, including home theater.
In this newly created global position, Campbell will oversee all motion production for DeCoro, leading a team of 500 production workers. He will be based at company headquarters here.
Campbell has more than 30 years of industry experience, particularly in factory operations. He was most recently with Corinthian Furniture, where he was responsible for setting up an upholstery facility in Haining, China. Previously, he set up an upholstery plant in Hangzhou for Standard Furniture.
Earlier, he was with La-Z-Boy and Jackson/Catnapper.
“The motion category has been the fastest growing part of our business in the last 12 months,” said DeCoro President and CEO Luca Ricci, “and with the major introduction in this category we have planned for the High Point Market this October, we felt it was vital to bolster our production team to be fully equipped to support this growth. Rocky is a perfect fit with his extensive hands-on experience in the United States and in China.”
Campbell added, “I look forward to working with the DeCoro management team to augment its leadership position by further enhancing the quality of our products and boosting our production efficiency.”
