Aaron's promotes key executives

RiveraAtlanta - Rent-to-ownretailer Aaron's Inc. has announcedchanges to its managementteam that the companysays will help secure futuregrowth opportunities.
    Aaron's has promoted StevenA. Michaels, vice presidentof finance, to vice president ofstrategic planning and businessdevelopment, a new position.Michaels has been with the companysince 1995 and has heldvarious roles starting in the auditdepartment. He has been vicepresident of finance since 2008.
     In his new role, he will overseenew business developmentand strategic analysis for futuregrowth.
Robert W. Kamerschen, seniorvice president and generalcounsel, has added corporatesecretary to his responsibilities.
     He joinedthe companyin June andmanages legaland governmentalaffairs.As corporatesecretary, hewill support the board of directorsand lead the company's corporategovernance initiatives.
Both Michaels and Kamerschenreport to Ronald W. Allen,president, chairman and CEO.
     The company also hasnamed Kimberly R. Riveravice president of learning anddevelopment, a new position. Inthis role, Rivera will create andrefine training and developmentprograms for the company's12,000 associates.
     She has 17 years of experiencein corporate coaching,human resources and trainingand development. She most recentlyowned a corporate trainingand development companyand worked as a consultant toAaron's to create a leadershipdevelopment program for themanagement team. She reportsto Chad Strickland, vice presidentof associate resources.
     "This is an exciting time forall members of Aaron's as wecontinue to strengthen our managementteam and build a platformfor sustainable growth,"Allen said in a statement.
