OCEANSIDE, Calif. — Members of the California Furniture Manufacturers Assn. and the Los Angeles Area Home Furnishings Representatives Assn. arranged the donation of more than 500 pieces of new furniture last month to 30 military families at the Marine base at Camp Pendleton here.

Members spent two days setting up and giving away the living room, bedroom and dining room furniture, donated by several manufacturers.

Families receiving the merchandise were clients of the Homefront San Diego military service organization.

The effort is an ongoing project of the CFMA, which hopes to expand it to other manufacturers and military bases in the future.

Companies donating furniture for the Camp Pendleton families were Ashley, Robert Michael, EJ Lauren, Sandberg Furniture, Gateway Mattresses, VIP, Della Robbia, Fairmont Designs, Terra Mfg., Rachlin and Elite Mfg.

Transportation to the base was donated by American West Transportation.
