American Furniture Hall of Fame Foundation seeks to add members

Offers new membership levels, benefits

, January 10, 2014

HIGH POINT — The American Furniture Hall of Fame Foundation is offering memberships with new levels and benefits.

The idea is to increase memberships by offering a wider range of incentives over seven levels, as opposed to the three that were offered in the past.

Memberships, which amount to tax-deductible contributions, start at $250. New benefits include multiple memberships for corporations, discounts for banquet tickets and discounts on the purchase of proprietary oral interviews, which become part of the materials the foundation uses to record the history of America’s furniture industry.

The foundation is highlighting a new corporate membership that includes 10 memberships at a discount and two three-year membership options, with one including a membership card that allows the holder to bypass lines when entering the High Point and Las Vegas markets.

Privileges of membership include eligibility to nominate and vote for Industry Fellows and Hall of Fame members.

“It is every person’s responsibility to write our history and to preserve both our stories and our memorabilia. We are the only organization doing this but we can only do it with a strong membership,” said George Cartledge III, the foundation’s president. “We also have a responsibility to honor the ingenuity and accomplishments of our leaders for perpetuity.”

Membership levels, along with information on joining the American Furniture Hall of Fame Foundation, are online at Information also is available by calling (336) 882-5900.
