Jay Swirbul steps down as Chris Stone VP

Will remain a company consultant, sales rep

Gary Evans -- Furniture Today, October 3, 2008

LOS ANGELES - Jay Swirbul is stepping down as vice president, sales and marketing, for fabric specialist Chris Stone Inc. He will remain with the company as a consultant and as an independent sales representative, the company said.

In a news release from the company, Swirbul said, "I love Chris Stone, and I have learned a lot working with Brian Wygle, the CEO. But I miss being a sales rep, and the extra travel was taking too much time from my family. I discussed this with Brian and he encouraged me to do what I thought was best for my family."

"Jay has done a lot for us, and I personally think he has helped me to make some good changes at Chris Stone," said Wygle. "I am glad that he will be continuing with us as a rep and consulting with us on sales and marketing strategy. Jay is truly a professional, who has a heart for the products he sells, and I could tell he was missing being in the field."

Swirbul was named to the vice president's post in May after working as a rep for the company for six years, most in the Southeast.
