Dallas Furniture Bank to honor Freeds

Freed's Homefurnishings has been generous donor

DALLAS — Freed's Homefurnishings owners Howard and Debbie Freed are the Dallas Furniture Bank's 2014 Hearts for Home honorees.

The Freeds will be recognized during the bank's ninth annual Chairity Friendraiser luncheon Wednesday at the Belo Mansion & Pavilion here.

In 2013, Freed's donated 41 truckloads of furniture, furnishing homes for 53 families in need.

Hall of Fame Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach will be the keynote speaker for the Wednesday event, which benefits the Dallas Furniture Bank.

Since 2003, the bank has provided furniture for more than 2,250 families and helped 9,000 individuals. Its mission is to provide basic home furnishing needs to qualified individuals and families who are transitioning from homelessness into a new home. The charity works with dozens of partner agencies to locate and assist qualified recipients.
