American Furniture Hall of Fame creates lapel pins for honorees

Part of this month's 20th anniversary induction banquet

HIGH POINT — The American Furniture Hall of Fame Foundation will celebrate its 20th anniversary induction banquet this month by unveiling two custom-designed lapel pins to honor its inducted members and Hall of Fame nominees.

The member pin is gold with black enamel detail and a six-point diamond at the base of the American Furniture Hall of Fame flame — the symbol of the enduring energy of members who have achieved positions of innovation, accomplishment and honor in the industry.

The nominee pin features the flame symbol surrounded by the black enamel detail.

The back of both pins will be inscribed with the American Furniture Hall of Fame logo and for members, their year of induction.

"Over the past few years, we've taken several important steps to make the Hall of Fame Foundation more relevant and accessible, including the development of a new logo, conversion of oral interviews to a digital format and the publication of the transcripts of these interviews with our industry's leaders," said Donald Belgrad, president of the AFHF. "The lapel pins reflect our new branding and our continuing commitment to recognizing the innovation and dedication of members of the Hall of Fame to our industry."

He said the design was inspired by Purple Heart lapel pins.

The pins will be unveiled and presented at the Hall of Fame banquet Tuesday evening, Oct. 21, during the High Point Market.

"Our new member and nominee pins are a fitting tribute to the accomplishments of the individuals who receive them," said Belgrad. "They underscore the enduring values of our organization in an elegant and meaningful way."
