U.S. to be Partner Country for Ambiente in 2015

FRANKFURT, Germany — Messe Frankfurt, organizer of Ambiente, an international home furnishings, gifts and accessories market held annually in Frankfurt, has announced that the United States is the Ambiente Partner Country for 2015.
Next year's show will be held Feb. 13-17 at Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre here.
During a ceremony Monday that included Japan's presentation as Partner Country at this year's Ambiente, Japanese Ambassador Takeshi Nakane passed the Partner Country globe to Kevin C. Milas, Consul General of the United States.
"Ambiente is the world's leading event for design trends in the consumer goods sector," Milas said. "With more than 4,700 exhibitors from around 90 countries, it is an outstanding platform for U.S. home products companies that want to strengthen their position in international markets. We are excited about our upcoming cooperation as Partner Country with Messe Frankfurt for 2015, and we look forward to showcasing cutting-edge American interiors, housewares and outdoor design products."
Detlef Braun, member of the board of management of Mess Frankfurst GmbH said, "We are delighted that the United States of America will be next year's Partner Country of the world's leading trade fair for the consumer goods industry. As hosts, we will offer longstanding and new exhibitors from the ‘land of opportunity' the perfect setting for a successful Partner Country presentation."
Japanese actress Rila Fukushima and Yukio Hashimoto, designer and ambassador of the Partner Country Japan project at Ambiente, represented Japan at the gala.
Dennis Smith, president of Messe Frankfurt North America, said the U.S. will be a noteworthy partner for the show and that "the U.S. presentation will encompass the American spirit and surpass expectations on design elements that Ambiente is so well known for around the world."
More than 140,000 buyers from 140 countries and 4,700 exhibitors from 89 countries attended Ambiente 2013. The U.S. is one of the top 15 exhibitor nations at Ambiente 2014 and ranks sixth for visitors to the fair, according to Messe Frankfurt officials.
