ASFD launches scholarship initiative

Winner to be announced at annual spring dinner

HIGH POINT — The American Society of Furniture Designers announced the creation of its Touching Lives by Design merit scholarship.

The scholarship, which rewards academic excellence to furniture design majors, is open to full-time college sophomores and juniors enrolled in an accredited college design program.

"ASFD is pleased to be able to offer this scholarship to students who have chosen furniture design as a career path," said Richard Schroeder, ASFD president. "Our association appreciates the generous donations that have made this scholarship a reality."

The 2014 scholarship winner will be announced April 7 at the Spring & Splinter Club in High Point during the ASFD's annual spring dinner.
