Richard Darcy ‘dick' Barrett, industry veteran

Barrett worked for several companies in the furniture industry and also owned his own business.
Barrett was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Altavista, Va., and a member of the Sebastian Elks Lodge 2714. He was a supporter and volunteer for the City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, Calif. Friends recalled that he embraced life with laughter and an appreciation for those who shared his traditional values of hard work and family and said he lived life to the fullest, his way.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma, three children, one stepdaughter, three sisters and seven grandchildren.
