HIGH POINT — High end case goods and upholstery resource E.J. Victor is being recognized by the City of High Point for its handling of trash and for its recycling efforts last year.
At 10 a.m. March 7, the city and the High Point Market Authority will present the company with the Green Market Award for its handling of trash and recycled materials at the April and October markets. The award will be presented at the E.J. Victor showroom at 116 S. Lindsay St.
In a statement, officials said that a typical market generates more than 300 tons of cardboard as well as other recyclable material, which is all recycled by the city. E.J. Victor received the award largely based on how well it followed city guidelines and for "contribution to the clean and safe environment that participants have come to expect."
