IDS, ViewIt to offer training at High Point Market
Will focus on design-related computer technology

HIGH POINT — The Interior Design Society and ViewIT Technologies will partner here in the first of a series of training sessions focusing on design-related computer technologies.
The first event will focus on using ViewIT's 3Dream.net, an Internet-based application that according to the company, lets the designer customize a client's project spaces in a virtual world. Using 3-D models of real products and materials, they can see how all the design visuals work together in the space, and then create a professional presentation — complete with visuals to help sell the project.
"3Dream is an amazing piece of technology, and the ability (of clients) to see it before they buy it will make a huge difference in increasing the designer's profits and client satisfaction," said Pamela White, chief executive of the Interior Design Society. "In listening to our designers in the field, they are looking for resources that will help them take that creative vision in their heads and turn it into a visual presentation that will help their clients see, understand and ultimately want that design vision."
The event is slated for Monday, Oct. 20, at the IDS facilities on the eighth floor of the Radio Building, Commerce and Main. There is a fee to attend, and information is available from Erin Woody, IDS director of education at (888) 884-4469 extension 224 or e-mail ewoody@interiordesignsociety.org.
Future training sessions will include Power Point for presentations, QuickBooks for designers, cool Web sites for designers and other relevant topics.
