Jerome’s plans to add fifth Los Angeles-area store
June 9, 2014,
SAN DIEGO — Jerome’s Furniture will open its fifth Los Angeles-area store and 10th overall full-line store later this year as it continues a steady expansion in Southern California.
The Top 100 company said it has leased a 52,000-square-foot former Home Depot Expo location on North Tustin Avenue in Anaheim for the store slated to open over Labor Day weekend, after an extensive renovation.
Goodman said the retailer’s online business and Los Angeles stores’ sales both “are growing exponentially.”
“It is clear from our other store openings, that our position in the market resonates successfully with the L.A.-based consumer,” Goodman added. “Our value proposition of great selection and fairly priced furniture offered by the best sales associates in the business is clearly transferrable.”
The company wouldn’t disclose its investment in the new store or projected sales.
Ranked No. 53 on Furniture/Today’s Top 100, Jerome’s did an estimated $123.3 million in sales at 10 stores last year (including a clearance center at its distribution center), up 9.4% from 2012.
The new Anaheim store will add about 50 jobs to the market, the retailer said, and it will feature Jerome’s wide offering of goods, its signature “Jerry’s Price” program (everyday low-priced merchandise) and same-day delivery. The store also will include a Jerome’s Dream Shop and Jerry’s Bloopers clearance area.
All of Jerome’s stores are staffed by interior designers and sleep specialists.
