Natuzzi names two executives
Will help furniture manufacturer implement plan
Joan Gunin -- Furniture Today, November 3, 2008
SANTERAMO IN COLLE — Natuzzi has appointed two managers to support the implementation of the company's recently announced business plan for 2009-2011.
Mariano Domingo, a former executive with Sara Lee Corp., will join the upholstered furniture manufacturing giant as chief financial officer and also will be in charge of IT and lean manufacturing, effective Nov. 10.
Umberto Bedini will join the company in January as senior vice president, operations. Bedini, a management consultant, had participated in the development of the company's new business plan and will now work on its implementation.
Both report to CEO Aldo Uva.
"I am delighted that Mariano and Umberto, two managers with remarkable track records in international markets, will join the group," said Uva. "With their appointments, Natuzzi will reach another stage in the development of a corporate organization focused on the successful implementation of our (2009-2011) business plan. Their contributions will be decisive in achieving the objectives we have set for ourselves."
At Sara Lee, Domingo was vice president and country chief financial officer, Iberia, and general manager financial shared services. In addition, he acted as European project leader for the implementation of the SAP platform across all Sara Lee subsidiaries.
He replaces Salvatore Gaipa, who resigned in September.
Bedini was with such international corporations as Gruppo Farmaceutico Angelini, Rockwell Rimoldi, Merloni Elettrodomestici (now Indesit) and Candy Group. Since 2004, he has been partner and CEO of ECA Consulting, an Italian management operations consultancy.
Natuzzi said it will add further appointments to strengthening its management team and to ensure the success of its business plan.
