John Kendig named VP of furniture, window coverings at JCPenney
Has worked on merger of direct, retail businesses

PLANO, Texas — John Kendig, who has been vice president-direct transition, overseeing this year's merging of the JCPenney direct (catalog and Internet) and retail businesses, has been named vice president of the company's furniture and window coverings businesses, a new post.Steve Dinkins, divisional vice president for furniture, now reports to Kendig. He previously had reported to Jeff Allison, executive vice president, home. The divisional vice presidents of bed, bath, luggage and housewares continue to report to Allison.
Greg Franko, formerly divisional vice president of the window coverings business, now is director of the company's custom decorating business. No successor has been named to his former position.
Kendig joined the company as vice president of home for the direct business, which included both the catalog and Internet businesses. He formerly was with SelfCare and earlier was with Neiman Marcus. He reports to Allison.
