23 resources to exhibit at Toronto Summer Furniture Show
July 31, 2014,
MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — Some 23 furniture and home furnishings resources with permanent showrooms in and around the International Centre here will open when the Toronto Summer Furniture Show begins its annual four-day run Aug. 9.
Trend-Line, a division of Superstyle Furniture, will unveil its StudioLine collection at this year’s Toronto Summer Furniture Show. This is the model 4735, which features not only the usual sofa, loveseat and matching chair, but also the studio sofa seen here.
Several notable names from previous summer shows will be missing from this year’s roster including A.P. Inds., Artage International, Durham Furniture, El Ran Furniture, Magnussen Home Furnishings and Marcantonio Design. All had showrooms in the International Centre’s SOFA (Source of Furniture & Accessories) annex. Also absent from this year’s event will be upholstery specialist Perri Fine Furniture.
This year, only two furniture makers with showrooms in SOFA will take part in TSFS: casual dining powerhouse Canadel Furniture and upholstery specialist Via Furniture.
TSFS participants with permanent showrooms in the area surrounding the International Centre include:
- Bermex Group
- Brentwood Classics
- Campio Furniture
- Easy Rest Canada
- Edgewood Furniture
- Future Chair
- Kingsdown Sleep Systems
- Korson Furniture Design
- Kwality Imports
- Leather Craft
- Leather Living Furniture
- Mazin Furniture Inds.
- Simmons Upholstery Canada
- Serta Canada/Star Bedding Products
- Springwater Woodcraft
- Statum Designs
- Superstyle Furniture
- Trend-Line Furniture
As has been the practice for the past several years, TSFS will run in concert with the summer show organized by the Canadian Gift & Tableware Assn., which will be held at the International Centre and the nearby Toronto Congress Centre Aug. 10-13. Information about the event is on the association’s website at www.cangift.org.
Springwater Woodcraft will display its product in Booth 8500, in Hall 8 of the Toronto Congress Centre, as part of the gift show.
According to CHFA chairman Laine Reynolds, TSFS traditionally attracts independent retailers from outside the greater Toronto area and Atlantic Canada.
“This is a great way for independent retailers to freshen their floors for the fall selling season,” said Reynolds, who is also vice president of sales and marketing for upholstery producer Superstyle Furniture and its sister company, Trend-Line. He said a sizeable number of independent retailers in eastern Canada don’t travel to the markets in High Point or Las Vegas and need an opportunity to source new goods for the key fall selling season.
The show will conclude with the annual CHFA Golf Classic on Tuesday, Aug. 12, at the Caledon Woods Golf Club in Bolton, Ontario. Lunch will be served beginning at 11 a.m. following by a shotgun tee-off at 1 p.m. The tournament will end with dinner at 5:30 p.m.
For more information about TSFS and Golf Classic or to register for either event, contact CHFA President Murray Vaughan at (905) 655-6771 or by e-mail at email@example.com.
