CHFA honors Rogers, Sleep Country Canada

Michael J. Knell -- Furniture Today, November 2, 2008

Two exemplars of the North America mattress industry will be saluted for their achievements at the Canadian Home Furnishings Awards gala in January as Sleep Country Canada is named Retailer of the Year and Sealy President and CEO Larry Rogers receives the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Both honors are presented by the Canadian Home Furnishings Alliance.

The retailer award recognizes business excellence and community service.

Sleep Country Canada began with just four stores, and now has 133 stores and 13 distribution centers. It also owns the Dormez-vous banner in Quebec and Arizona-based Sleep America

The Lifetime Achievement Award salutes a person who has made exemplary and sustained contributions to the Canadian home furnishings industry and his or her community.

The awards gala is set for Friday, Jan. 9, in the new conference facility at the International Centre here on the eve of the Canadian Home Furnishings Market, which runs Jan. 10-13.

To purchase tickets to the gala or for more information contact CHFA president Murray Vaughn at (905) 677-6561, or e-mail him at murray@chfaweb.ca.
