NEW YORK — Interior designer, author and socialite Celerie Kemble and textile house Schumacher have partnered to launch a collection of colorful woven and print upholstery fabrics in traditional designs and textures targeted to appeal to "today's increasingly sophisticated generation."
The Harvard-educated designer calls her collection "suited to a wide mix of modern tastes and styles - vintage, contemporary and traditional - that very much reflects my approach to interior design. This is the kind of design that my own clientele is increasingly looking for and that I wanted to bring to my first collection for Schumacher."
The collection includes classic looks with modern details and geometric patterning, using metallic finishes, exotic touches such as ikats and embroidery as well as moiré, silk and velvet in a rich color palette of saturated hues and subtle neutrals.
Based in Florida and New York, Kemble's interior design work has been widely published in the United States and internationally. Earlier, she collaborated with Laneventure for a collection of residential furniture.
Her book, "To Your Taste: Creating Modern Rooms with a Traditional Twist," is due for publication this month.
