IDS members win ViewIt design contest

Diane Dean, Rhonda Hull create 3-D room plans

Gary Evans -- Furniture Today, November 21, 2008

TORONTO — Diane Dean took first place and fellow designer Rhonda Hull came in second in ViewIt Technologies' 3Dream Speed Design contest, the company said.

The contest was held as part of the first of a series of design technology workshops held during the High Point Market.

Held in the new Radio Building facilities of the Interior Design Society, the training focused on ViewIt's 3Dream.net, a to-the-trade, three-dimensional interior design tool that allows professionals to create and decorate spaces in a 3-D environment - complete with furniture, rugs, flooring, window treatments, art and paint.

Dean, an IDS member from Alpharetta, Ga., won a year's use of the online program, valued at $600. Her winning room photo book can be seen at www.picaboo.com.

Hull, from Hickory, N.C., won six months free with her family-room design, which included an outdoor room and a kids' play area.

The workshops were presented by ViewIt Technologies and co-sponsored by Greenhouse Design Fabrics and Micro-D.
