EL MONTE, Calif. —
Wood furniture manufacturer Aishni Home Furnishings says it has increased its production capacity in Jaipur, India, by 125,000 square feet.
Pravin Srivastava, CEO of the company, which has a U.S. office and warehouse here, said the expansion will boost capacity by 80 or more containers a month.
“This will assure our largest customers continued flow of merchandise and quality levels that they expect from Aishni,” he said. He also said the company also has added kilns, fumigation facilities and machinery that will allow it to “take the product from tree to finished product.”
Aishni uses sheesham, acacia and mango woods. The sheesham has a 70%/30% dark to light coloration for eye appeal and durability, according to the company.
Construction design ensures that case table tops won't warp or split, said Srivastava. Factory supervisors have hand-held meters to measure moisture content of products throughout the day to make sure they match the settings of the drying kilns.
“We have a sales force of approximately 25 reps, most of whom have prior experience with product from India, a distinct advantage in aiding buyers in merchandising knowledge of Indian furnishings sales display marketing. The Aishni sales team will also be a vital link in the sales floor training of our retail partners' sales reps,” said Srivastava.
Aishni shows at the Las Vegas and High Point markets.
