CONOVER, N.C. — Logistics provider Cargo Consolidation Services has promoted Michael Sharpe to vice president and general manager. He will oversee sales and operational activities.

Sharpe, a 10-year veteran of the company who has been involved with furniture transportation and logistics for most of his career, most recently was its general manager.

“Michael possesses many of the qualities that have helped us remain competitive and lean during the recession, but continue to provide unparalleled service to our clientele,” said John Pope, chairman.

ST. LOUIS — Weekends Only Furniture here has hired Sean Copple as information technology manager, a new position for the retailer.

Copple will oversee the IT department for the five-store retailer and provide leadership on software and communications development, implementation and maintenance.

He has more than 19 years of information technology experience, most recently as group manager for corporate applications at BJC Healthcare in St. Louis.

“Sean's leadership will be instrumental in providing the high-performance services needed to support the company's continual growth and to sustain our record sales performance in this market,” said Dionne Dumitru, Weekends Only chief operating officer.

Nourison

SADDLE BROOK, N.J. — Nourison has appointed Keith Levine as account executive covering the Mountain States territory.

Levine will be responsible for servicing and developing business in Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Wyoming.

Previously, he was principal of Levine and Associates, a sales agency in the Colorado area specializing in rugs and furniture. Levine has also been an owner and partner in a retail furniture business.

“We are excited about the opportunity we now have to grow this substantial territory with a well-known, respected industry professional like Keith,” said Gerard O'Keefe, vice president of sales at Nourison.

ONTARIO, Calif. — Parker House Furniture has named Bill Hendricks its salesman of the year.

Hendricks was honored for his contributions to company growth and the outstanding sales in his Wisconsin and northern Illinois territory.

“Bill has been exemplary in times of a struggling economy,” said Sam Perone, senior vice president of sales and marketing. “His efforts have directed retailers to purchase Parker House and Parker Living products that retailed at better than average sales rates. Bill is not only an asset to Parker House but to his account base as well.”
