Zenda offers leather care cleaning kit

CONNELLY SPRINGS, N.C. —
Zenda Leather, a major supplier of leather for the furniture and automotive industries, has begun marketing a pair of leather care products that can be sold by furniture retailers.
Using the Zenda brand name, the leather conditioner and leather cleaner use a proprietary formula that was developed by Zenda in Uruguay, where the company is based.
Larry McDade, who recently was hired by Zenda to oversee sales and marketing of the products in the United States, said they were originally developed for auto detailing shops and were sold primarily in 24-ounce bottles.
The product was an immediate hit with detailers, so the company decided to create a package that could be sold in stores, he said.
The retail package, which retails for $39.99, includes an 8-ounce bottle of conditioner, an 8-ounce bottle of cleaner and two cleaning cloths.
He said Zenda recommends cleaning leather furniture three to four times a year, and said the retail package is about a year's supply of the cleaner and conditioner.
