Patio Living Concepts inks WINOS licensing deal

Patio Living Concepts has signed a licensing partnership with WINOS cookbook author Bonnie Jesseph for product to be introduced at the International Casual Furniture market this fall in Chicago.
The resurgence of outdoor entertaining, cooking and the outdoor room, led Linn, MO-based Patio Living Concepts to seek the cookbook author to help launch its new collection, which focuses on color and the use of lighting to create a casual environment. With more than 38 years of experience in product design and engineering in the lighting industry, Patio Living Concepts focuses on aesthetics, function and quality to achieve creative product design.
Jesseph founded WINOS (Women In Need of Sanity) in 2005 after a particularly stressful period in her life. Focusing on what she treasured most: family, cooking, entertaining, having fun, enjoying good wine and giving back to the community, she founded WINOS.
“I knew I needed some sanity at this particular crossroads in my life and just happened to be drinking a glass of wine during my soul searching when I visualized sanity as diving into a wine glass at the end of the day and before I knew it, WINOS was born,” Jesseph said.
The fledgling entrepreneur loves to cook for family and friends and often adds wine to her many recipes, so she sat down and penned her first cookbook, WINOS Cook With Wine. The success of that cookbook was followed by WINOS Hormonal Moments, Cooking With Wine and Chocolate, then MAN Your Grill, Cooking and Grilling With Beer and the newly released WINOS GO TAPAS, Appe-teasers and Mini-Meals.
The logo of the woman diving into the wine glass became so popular among her cookbook fans that Jesseph was flooded with requests to put the icon on aprons and T-shirts. WINOS now features furniture for casual dining and outdoor entertaining. Jesseph will also display her many books and products available for wholesale orders throughout the upcoming market.
“Even in a difficult economy, our products are flying out the door,” Jesseph said. “Retailers can partner with wine shops and create events to bring women and all wine enthusiasts into their store.”
Jesseph added, “Whenever we have a book signing or a wine festival, women take one look at the woman diving into a wine glass and say, 'Sign me up!' That's when the light bulb went off and I thought 'We do need a club for these women.'” The company is expanding again with the launch of a membership program, WINOS Buddies.
New social societies have grown in popularity in recent years as women look to redefine their lives and place a larger emphasis on their friendships and connections with other women, especially in these trying times. The purpose of the WINOS Buddies program is to bring together women who share a common interest in wine, cooking and camaraderie with an emphasis on giving back to their communities. “The discernible difference with WINOS is the philanthropic component in which we use the tag line, 'Making a difference with every sip,''' Jesseph said.
Women can join WINOS Buddies through the Web site www.winosbuddies.com and establish a chapter in their own city. Members receive special discounts, monthly newsletters, access to chapter meetings and programs and the ability to give back to a charitable organization of their chapter's choosing.
