Bedding veteran is producer's licensee in Northwest

OLIVE BRANCH, Miss. — Top 15 bedding producer Englander has named bedding veteran John Hagglund chairman.
Hagglund is president of Tualatin Sleep Products, which has facilities in Tualatin, Ore., and Stockton, Calif. His operations are known as Englander Northwest. He has been producing Englander bedding since 1985.
Hagglund succeeds Chuck Warshaver, who has been chairman of Englander since 2007. Warshaver, president of Englander Northeast/World Sleep Products, based in Billerica, Mass., helped define a new marketing and merchandising direction for Englander, and also led the group in adding international licensees, Englander officials said.
"Under John's leadership, Englander will continue its success in product development," said Englander President Kevin Toman. "Manufacturing in the Northwest has given John Hagglund a great handle on green issues and Englander will continue its dominance in that arena."
Englander's seven U.S. licensees bought the Englander brand from La-Z-Boy in 2005 and established a rotating chairmanship. Terry Spears, Englander's licensee in Rome, Ga., was the first chairman of the group under that new structure.
