Allan Madonik joins Sleepking/Crown Design as VP
Will head sales, marketing for Toronto-based company

TORONTO — Bedding and upholstery manufacturer Sleepking/Crown Design has hired industry veteran Allan Madonik as vice president of sales and marketing.Madonik succeeds Paolo Macchione, who was named vice president of sales and marketing for Zsemba Apron & Upholstery, a Toronto-based producer of contemporary upholstery, and its Comfy Kids division.
Sleepking is the Toronto/Ontario licensee for the Therapedic bedding brand.
Before joining the company, Madonik held sales management posts with Serta, Tempurpedic Canada, Protect-a-Bed and Englander Canada.
At Sleepking he will report to Ralph Gerstl, president, and Jerry Vasser, vice president of operations.
In a statement, Gerstl said Madonik's objectives will include increasing awareness of the flagship Therapedic brand and growing sales locally.
"Allan was born into this industry with his family business, Queen City Bedding. We expect him to use his experience and energy to ignite a strong growth in sales into our company," Gerstl said.
