AT THE MARKET — Ironman is making an appearance in the Park Place showroom here.
The Greenville, S.C.-based bedding producer recently signed a licensing agreement with T3 Recovery Products to make and market T3 Recovery Mattresses, which incorporate Ironman Sleep Technology. Ironman refers to a triathlon held in Hawaii each year that is considered one of the world's most challenging endurance events.
Park Place is showing high-end mattresses and pillows in the new program in its World Market Center showroom, B-901.
"We at T3 are very excited to welcome Park Place to the T3 Recovery Products Group of licensees," said Richard Brass, president of T3 Recovery Products. "Combining the rich history of Park Place and the Orders family with the worldwide recognition of T3 Recovery Products and Ironman bring complementary values and technology together to offer T3 Recovery Products to Park Place's retailers."
Added Jimmy Orders, president of Park Place: "We are really looking forward to offering our retailers the combined strength of T3 Recovery Products technology and the power of the Ironman brand. This will bring new customer and revenue streams to our dealers."
Seattle-based T3 Recovery Products also announced that it has signed a licensing agreement with Blu Sleep Products, a Montreal-based manufacturer of pillows and toppers.
Alex Ciccolella, president of Blu Sleep, said the T3/Ironman brand will "grow the business of our current retailers" and also opens new distribution channels for the company.
T3 has the worldwide rights to design and sublicense The Official Sleep Products of Ironman, T3 Recovery Products, T3 Recovery Mattress, The Mattress for the Human Race, and related brands. The Ironman logo is a trademark of the World Triathlon Corp.
Brass said that T3 "is in the process of major expansion internationally as well as domestically."
Park Place has licensing rights for the line in 24 Eastern states for its two factories in Greenville, S.C., and Denver, Pa.
The mattresses will retail from $1,499 to $2,499. The pillows produced by Blu Sleep will retail from $79 to $179.
The Ironman mattress line was originally launched by Spring Air. Englander then introduced the line, and one of Englander's licensees in the Northwest continues to market the line in that area.
Joe Carman V, director of operations for T3 Recovery Products, will join Brass in Las Vegas in the Park Place showroom. Carman's family has a long history in the industry.
