WithIt honors nine with 2010 WOW awards

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Nine industry leaders were honored with 2010 WOW awards last week by from WithIt during the group's annual education conference at the Renaissance Suites Hotel here.

     Kathy Wall, president of marketing and communications firm The Media Matters, received the Mentoring Award, acknowledging advocacy, development and/ or promotion of women in home furnishings.
     Jay Reardon, president of Hickory Chair, received the Education Award, recognizing efforts to educate associates, retailers or consumers about home furnishings.
     Four people received Future Leader Awards - Rene Crosby, senior account executive for Four Hands; Kristin Hawkins, new product development stage gate manager for Broyhill; Vanessa Northrop, marketing director for Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based City Furniture; and Kaci Prunty, retail marketing manager for Tempur-Pedic.

     Catherine Frinier, principal and managing partner of Frinier Atelier, received the President's Award.
     Mary Frye, president of the Home Furnishings Independents Assn., won the Chairman's Appreciation Award.
     Julie Phillips, vice president and co-founder of the Phillips Collections, was honored with the Legacy Award.
     WithIt, the women's leadership development network serving the home and furnishings industries, presents its WOW awards annually at its conference.
