UPDATE: Premarket exhibitor list grows to 89 as 201 buyers register

HIGH POINT —The upcoming High Point Premarket has registered its highest number of buyers since the event began its reincarnation four years ago, according to the High Point Market Authority.
So far, 201 buyers from 80 companies have signed up to attend the event Sept. 13-14.
"Buyers are continuing to register for the fall Premarket, with requests coming in almost daily," Brian Casey, Market Authority president and CEO, said in a press release. "The response has been fantastic and we look forward to a very strong event."
Buying group Furniture First will hold its annual symposium in neighboring Greensboro, N.C., just before Premarket.
The exhibitor list includes 25 companies that are sponsoring the event, and 64 others that also will open their doors for Premarket. Also taking part as sponsors are three showroom building owners, the International Home Furnishings Center, 220 Elm and the Merchandise Mart Properties Inc.

Premarket takes place about a month before the April and October High Point markets, allowing manufacturers and suppliers a chance to show new product prototypes in advance of the spring and fall shows. The fall market opens Oct. 16.
