GOODYEAR, Ariz. - High-end case goods and upholstery producer Lorts Mfg. has signed on Atlanta interior designer Christy Dillard to create a furniture collection to be released early next year.
The company said the collection will build on the strengths of the Lorts brand and incorporate elements of Dillard's style - classic silhouettes with unexpected detailing, bold color and styling selections, and an energized contemporary perspective.
It will be phased in before next April's High Point Market, officials said. The line will be case goods-focused with 12 to 15 bedroom, dining and occasional pieces. Price points will be within the company's existing price range.
Dillard said she is using a mix of materials "to bring a unique flair to the collection ... appealing to many different clients. The look is fresh but will have a timeless quality that I like to use for all projects."
Ty Lorts, president of Lorts, added, "We are confident that a recognized and successful interior designer like Christy will be an inspiration to designers that love our line, and that the collaboration will complement and add depth to Lorts' strong existing line."
In addition to design, Dillard will collaborate with Lorts to develop companion finish options to complement the look of the collection.
The company said Dillard has been creating environments that combine classical details with elements that reflect the evolving nature of design for over 17 years. Her work has been recognized by a number of organizations and has appeared in numerous publications.
The launch will include a supplemental catalog, price list and collateral information, and will be publicized through the company's website, blog, social networking sites and editorial support.
