Contemporary Design Group adds five retailer members
Home furnishings buying group now includes 29 stores

SAN DIEGO — Contemporary Design Group here has added five members to its ranks this year.
The newest members of the buying group are Century House, Madison, Wis.; Circle Furniture, Acton, Mass.; Forma Furniture, Fort Collins, Colo.; and Scan Home, Anchorage, Alaska. Also earlier this year, Decorum of Norfolk, Va., joined the association.
In a press release, CDG said the new members add depth to it mission of "providing collaborative opportunities for contemporary home furnishings retailers to become more successful through shared d knowledge, performance standards, best practices and collective buying opportunities."
"We are thrilled to add these five stores," said CDG President Howard Haimsohn, who also is president of Lawrance Contemporary in San Diego. "Their knowledge and experience will strengthen CDG and bring tremendous added value to all of the members of the organization.
CDG has 20 members with 29 stores in 17 states and buying power in the $90 million to $100 million range.
The group's next annual convention will be held Dec. 3-7 at the Se San Diego hotel downtown. More information about the group is on its recently launched website at http://contemporarydesign.com/.
