Tom Stumpf, Guillermo Barreto join International Furniture Direct
Company offers Artisan Home Furniture line

PHOENIX — Industry veteran Tom Stumpf has joined case goods and occasional source Artisan Home Furniture by International Furniture Direct as president of U.S. sales, with responsibility for all U.S. operations.
Stumpf most recently was an executive with former wood furniture source Orleans Furniture and has been in the industry 35 years in management roles and as a sales representative. He replaces Ralph Orozco, who left the company.
Also new at IFD as marketing manager is Guillermo Barreto, who also will have responsibility in merchandising and sales. He most recently was Latin America manager for Creata, a global marketing agency whose clients include Coca-Cola and McDonald's.
Stumpf and Barreto report to Carlos Ochoa, a co-owner of IFD. Jorge Barragan also is a co-owner.
In addition, the company said it has contracted with Hector De Luca to design "new and exciting furniture lines." He has been designing furniture for more than 30 years.
IFD produces a broad line of bedroom, occasional, accent and some dining furniture at medium to upper-medium price points under the Artisan Home brand.
Barreto said the company will introduce five bedroom suites and some accent pieces at the October High Point Market, where it will show at Center Point on Hamilton, space 106. Its first product with De Luca is expected to be introduced early next year at the Las Vegas Market.
IFD operates a distribution center in Phoenix, managed by Diana Zaldivar with customer service assistance from Ana Aguayo. It also has a distribution center in Houston, and company veteran Mike Mejia is now leading operations there.
"With the strong management team in place and the addition of several new sales representatives, we look forward to the growth of the company," said Stumpf.
