Simmons names Smith president of U.S. sales

ATLANTA - Bedding major Simmons has named Tony Smith president of U.S. sales and Simmons Canada. Smith had been CEO and president at International Bedding, a Top 10 bedding producer, for the last three years.
Smith will report to Simmons CEO Gary Fazio and is responsible for all U.S. sales functions as well as the company's Canadian business unit.
Paul Bognar, former Simmons Canada president, will report to Smith. Dominick Azevedo, executive vice president of sales, is leaving Simmons, the company announced.
"We are fortunate to have someone with Tony's experience and capabilities on board," Fazio said. "Tony has an impressive track record and proven success across all facets of the organizations with which he has worked. I look forward to his many contributions as a member of the Simmons executive leadership team."
Smith has more than 25 years of bedding experience. Before his tenure at IBC, he spent 22 years at Sealy, serving in various roles including vice president of sales and regional vice president. He was later named chief operating officer of Sealy Canada.
