HIGH POINT — Veteran upholstery executive Luana Davis has been named vice president of product development for Chinese manufacturer Lacquer Craft's upholstery lines.
In the newly created position, Davis will oversee product design and development for the leather and fabric upholstery lines in all of Lacquer Craft's business units. She reports to Lacquer Craft President Mohamad Amini and will be based at the company's corporate office and factory in Dongguan, China.
"Lacquer Craft is very fortunate to have someone of Luana's caliber join our organization," Amini said. "She not only has a tremendous reputation within the industry for her ability to bring creative design to the marketplace, but also has built great relationships with major retailers over her career that will benefit our company greatly."
Davis has held a variety of sales, marketing and product development posts with several upholstery producers, including Natuzzi, LeatherTrend, Bauhaus and Douglas.
In 2006, she launched her own upholstery company, Luana Living, but it ceased operations earlier this year.
Lacquer Craft, a subsidiary of Samson Holding, is one of China's largest full-line furniture manufacturers. It is the parent company of U.S. brands Universal, Legacy Classic, Craftmaster and Sofitalia.
