CLAWSON, Mich. — Home furnishings and gift store Leon & Lulu will serve free pizza and ice cream from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 1 to help kick off National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in metropolitan Detroit.
The retailer will contribute 10% of total sales during the Oct. 1 event to support the Karmanos Cancer Institute of Detroit.
In addition, 100% of proceeds from the sale of Passion for Pink rugs from Company C also will support the institute. A limited number of the 2-by-3-foot wool hooked rugs will be available throughout October.
Also throughout October, each time someone orders the new Leon & Lulu pizza at any Buddy's Pizzeria, $3 will be donated to the Karmanos Cancer Institute.
Sponsors for the Oct. 1 event include Company C, Buddy's Pizzeria and Ray's Ice Cream. In addition to eating for free, partygoers can play games with a chance to win prizes.
